season's greasons

aaaaahhh why is december The Shortest Month. it's the deadline of christmas hanging over it all, that's what it is.
i have now at least got everybody on my list a christmas present - it's a very book-heavy one again this year, but i had waterstone's points to use so at least that's something. i managed to finish the Cosy Autumn Socks for my gran, and then realised i hadn't gotten anything for my other gran yet, so i'm speed-knitting Hermione's Everyday Socks in a very nice autumnal colourway. i'm almost at the heel flap of sock 2, so it should get done in time.
work has just been kicking my ass. lots of nights, lots of difficult, emotional people - it's always emotional having relatives in hospital this time of year. i can't believe it's technically christmas at the weekend already.
i've also been looking seriously into buying a house or flat. i had one close call that went to a cash buyera thousand curses on the cash buyer, and after a couple more viewings that went nowhere i'm off to see another house on the 23rd. i can't help but feel guilty when i'm looking at these houses and offering this money, though - my deposit came from an inheritance from my auntie, after she died 18 months ago, and while i've saved money as i go, i'm very aware that my experience is so out of the norm for people my age.
also, on a very rude note, the boy i went on a date with last time ghosted me, the little fucker. i have another date with somebody scheduled for tuesday, so shall duly report back and hope that this one doesn't ghost me as well. lol. lmao. ha ha ha.
i am, at least, looking forwards to hogmanay - i've got a good week off right at the start of january plus annual leave later in the month, so i can go and visit my family and see my mum. and, as always, i am steadily writing my silly little fanfic.
