so tumblr is dying again

hello dreamwidth!

i'm rae, and i'm a tumblr refugee. it seemed prudent to make a dreamwidth account, given that the lights may actually, genuinely get turned off at tumblr at some point given the recent news about them becoming a skeleton crew.

i was too young for the proper blogging experiences of livejournal the first time around, but who knows? this could turn out to be a great fit for me!

i'm also struggling my way through nanowrimo this year - not the full 50k by any means, i'm just trying to update my fanfic 'Roses and Lavender' more frequently. if you are into queering disney movies, and the remakes of cinderella and beauty and the beast specifically, you might enjoy it quite a bit.

the all-lower case is a tragic holdover from tumblr that i'm afraid is here to stay. i can't apologise for what i'm not sorry for.

i've also made an account on a filehosting service, because a tumblr post about dreamwidth i found said that the ability to host pictures here is very limited. i'll be posting about the dice i bought today shortly probably. but i wanted to like. look around before doing stuff first

it's telling me this account is set to log the IP addresses of everyone who comments? can you personally view them or is it more of a thing where i can be IP blocked by you but you can't like. See it?

ahh, that filehosting might be a good idea! i have no earhtly idea what i'm going to do with a dreamwidth tbh, but i'm certainly along for the ride!

i have. no idea how the whole ip address thing works. honestly couldn't even tell you if i can see it or not bc i'm genuinely not sure what i'm looking for. although i have the same note about logging ip addresses replying to you as you do to me, so maybe it's just a default setting? idk ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
